What are blockchain network fees?

Every time you send cryptocurrency from one wallet to another, you incur a network transaction fee. This is the fee that is paid to confirm your transaction on the blockchain. The actual amount of fees vary depending on the cryptocurrency, the network capacity, and the market demand (i.e. how many transactions are looking to get confirmed at this point in time).

There is no way to escape this fee as it is an important feature of cryptocurrency – the network fees incentives miners to do the work that verifies transactions on the blockchain.


Why is my paper wallet still empty?

Transaction speed is the rate at which data is transferred from one account to another. The faster a transaction is confirmed, the better the transaction speed is said to be. Transaction speed of a blockchain is one of the prime parameters through which viability of a blockchain is gauged.
The cryptocurrency you bought at the ATM needs to be confirmed by the corresponding blockchain network. Based on the network speed this can take up to 24 hours. If you can not access your cryptocurrency even after 24 hours please contact our Värdex support team.


Why are fees higher for ATMs than online services?

We are aware that our fees may be slightly higher than other service providers. We put in great effort and considerable investments to ensure a sustainable, advanced and highly secure ATM network for our customers.
We therefore have higher costs in terms of maintenance, operations, security and compliance.


What is the daily limit for ATM transactions?

Transaction limits depend on the type of transaction and payment method:

  • Cash purchases (CHF):
    Up to CHF 1,000 per person within a rolling 30-day period

  • Cash purchases (EUR):
    Up to EUR 900 per person within a rolling 30-day period

  • Card payments:
    Up to CHF 1,000 per person within 24 hours

  • Sell transactions:
    Up to CHF 1,000 per person within a rolling 30-day period

To use the ATM, a valid Swiss or EU mobile phone number is required for verification purposes.

I want to buy or sell large crypto amounts

Our crypto ATM services are designed for exchanging smaller amounts of cryptocurrency and fiat only.

We do not offer transactions exceeding the stated limits via our ATMs.


Which currencies does the ATM currently accept?

Our ATMs accept Swiss Francs (CHF) and Euros (EUR) to purchase Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
You also have the possibility of exchanging Bitcoins (BTC) into Swiss Francs (CHF) through our ATMs.
